Greetings to All,
Wishing you all a delightful and restful Summer. Spring was a gorgeous delight of colour!
Thank you to everyone who came out to help giving of their time and energy whether it be sorting, setting up tables , taking them down, carting to the dump, donating , buying, eating, and more; you all played a huge part. Thank you for your prayers and encouragement the event was a huge success.
We are on again for next year so start saving.

Advance notice

ZGS Annual dinner has had to be moved forward this year to October 5th. Doors opening as usual 6 pm with dinner served 6:30 sharp!! We already have 4 tables booked. If you can help by selling a table of 8 to friends it helps us and makes for a good social evening. We are keeping tickets at $40 per person. It's never too early to book. First tickets go to the buffet first 😊

ZGS Art and Craft Sale- 2nd and 3rd November at the Ocean Part hall 8:30 – 4pm Save your Christmas shopping until you see all our goods.

Container to Zimbabwe or not?

It is that time of the year where we must make up my mind if a container will be sent to Zimbabwe or not.
We already have loads of donations promised in storage at many houses. They don’t fit into our townhouse and people want to pass it all on to us soon. We don’t have a storage barn this year so have to make the decision to receive and pack the goods within a week or two.
Right now, I am not looking for goods. However, I am looking for sponsorship for the container and shipping. It is too far in advance of our fundraiser to go out on a limb and commit without funds and usually we need all the funds to build programs.
Due to gas prices soaring, the flood in Beira wiping out roads, and having to send the container by rail. prices have gone up.
For a container, shipping, dock fees, duty, crane fees and unpacking we will need approx. $17,000.
A lot of money to be sure. The container usually holds about $250,000 worth of goods and often much more depending on medical supplies. So well worth sending.
Would you? Could you? Would you love to? Commit to taking an active role in sending a container to Zimbabwe. Your financial commitment would be due July/ August of this year.
The container would hold:-
  • Medical Supplies for hospitals and all our clinics
  • School Supplies for our programs
  • Chairs and teachers desks for the new school
  • Toys for the Children
  • Bibles for the programs and churches
  • Sewing machines and supplies for all our programs plus a new one.
  • Carpentry tools for many programs
  • Welding supplies
  • Gardening supplies
  • Gleaners dried food which will be critical this year with starvation on the rise.
  • Community supplies pots, pans, plates and dishes. Blankets, sheets household goods.
This is a short list. Everything cherished and appreciated more than you will ever know or think.
